What’s SuperMotif?

It’s a collectively created brand selling clothes and shortly, homewear. It’s also a design collective formed around this website and a little social experiment. Never has so much of a brand being left open to collective collaboration. Will it work – who knows?

What do you sell?

Inspiring products created by the greatest design community on the planet. All our products are limited editions. For instance, each t-shirt design is limited to 999, subdivided into 3 different version of 333. That could be a colour change or a different garment style. All our designers whether they are famous or unknown are paid the same and are given an advance and a royalty on each sale. All our products are the best possible quality sourced with environmental issues always at the forefront of our thoughts. We care deeply about the cut of a t-shirt, or the design of a plate and the quality of print. We think this shows in everything we produce. The homeware will also be created in different limited runs and each will be specified on the site in the description of the item.

Anything else I need to know before buying?

The site will tell you whether the item is in or out of stock (if it’s out of stock you will be told when it will expected and offer a chance to pre-order, or alternatively if it has reached its production limit and is therefore permanently unavailable). The unisex tees are not pre-shrunk so expect a ½ size reduction after your first wash. We chose a snug fit so if that’s what you want choose your regular size, but if, like the Happy Mondays, you are looking for a loose fit choose one size up.

How do I design for Supermotif?

The idea with SuperMotif is to collectively create excellence. Your work will be along side some of the biggest and best designers on Earth. If you are up to that we warmly welcome you to join our family. We issue commissions for the various designs we need. Along with each commission will be a summary of the payment advance and royalty. The commissions fall into four groups; motifs, garments, homewear and branding. SM is a collectively created brand. So all aspects are open to collaboration. There are no rules to who can and cannot create work for SM, we will invite artists and we will make up unsolicited pieces. We only want to create great products - that’s the only rule.

Technical spec.

How fast do you deliver my purchase?

It should leave us by the day after you buy. So 3-4 days for UK, 7 for Europe and 14 for the USA and ROW are our targets. We doubt if anything will go wrong but if it does we are afraid that means you will have to pay for signed for delivery from then on. We’ll send you a mail when your products are en route.

What if I don’t like it/it doesn’t fit/etc/etc?

You can send it back in saleable condition and we’ll refund you. You have 14 days.

What if it’s not right?

Accept our apologies that you’re not happy and get in touch. We’ll deal with your specific problem then.
